Hi Everybody

My wife and I have just secured an allotment for the first time and will begin working on it this week. We are not very experienced so have been doing a lot of reading on growing vegetables etc.

We need to find some well rotted manure, hopefully on the northside of Dublin.I know you can buy some on the web for 2EUR a bag but does anybody know where we could pick some up for free as we may need quite a bit.

We would appreciate any guidance that somebody could give.

Thanks a lot!

There's a riding stables on the back road between the Malahide Road and Swords (Baskin Lane), if that's any good to you. I have a friend who rides horses, who says that any stables would delighted to get rid of some of their manure pile, as long as you bag it yourself, but her stables is in Wicklow, so the Baskin one might be a lot less of a long-distance smelly trip to deal with.

Let up know how you get one, because I'm sure you're not the one ones who could use the compost!
