This year i have planted a blue spruce it has two leaders and is only a foot and a half tall, I was wondering how difficult it would be to graft the second leader onto a sitka spruce sapling . I have never done this before and only know the basic theory of it as regards apple trees , any advise would be helpful such as when to do it and how long it takes for graft to take, how successful it would be ect.
It is a 'Erich Frahm' type cost me 30 euro so I think i deserve a bonus tree!
Thanks

It won't work. Grafting Spruce is a delicate business at the best of times. Cut your losses (literally) |
