One day course:
"Nature-Friendly Gardening and Growing for the Kitchen" will be next held at our smallholding near Kiltegan in West Wicklow, 75 minutes from Dublin city centre, on 19th June 2010 from 10.00 to 16.00.
The day is aimed at new and existing gardeners and will include creating and maintaining a nature-friendly environment in your garden, how to encourage wildlife in your garden, raising home grown herbs, vegetables and fruit, seed saving...and more!
Individuals, families and small groups welcome.
Places limited.
The course will be run by Mo Osman who has been establishing a small holding for the last number of years, with a productive greenhouse, polytunnel and kitchen garden, on several acres and is involved with the weekly Country Market in Tullow. Feedback from the same course last year was very positive.
The gardens received a Biodiversity Garden of Special Merit Award in the Corrin Hill Biodiversity Garden Awards 2008.
The cost of the course is €55 which includes a cooked lunch (Mo cooks as well!) and refreshments throughout the day.
Participants who wish to make a weekend of it can combine the course with a stay at Tigh Na Ri Rua, the on-site restored thatched cottage, available for self catering let, as a great package.
[See http://www.visitwicklow.ie/accommodation/tigh_na_ri_rua.htm for cottage details].
