Annecdotal evidence of many flowering rhubarbsthis spring / early summer. . What should we do? leave well enough alone? is the fruit stalk affected ? |

If the rhubarb is allowed to flower the plant spends it's energy on flower production. It's recommended to remove the flower stalk immediately so the plant concentrates on producing leaves and edible stalks ( the leaves being poisonous of course ) I am letting one of mine flower this year as I have never seen or smelled a rhubarb flower before. _________________ http://thefoxygardener.blogspot.com |
