hi just a quick question.ive noticed black spots and deformed leaves on my oregano. until recently it was probably the healthiest looking herb in my patch.any ideas?

It could be caused by aphids foxxx. Not only do the little beggers latch on and try and suck your plants dry, but they can also produce a sweet substance called honeydew (coveted by ants) which can lead to an unattractive black surface growth called sooty mold.
Have a look-see and check the tips of the plant for the little Evil or Very Mad

You'll find LOADS of remedies here, especially in the roses section, for dealing with the blighters. Hope that this has helped. Smile
