How do you grow courgettes?? I got a mini plastic greenhouse and I want to grow them in it? Would they be too hot there?? Also do you have to stake them or just let them flop over like strawberries?? Tnkz RazzSmileSmileSmileSmileRazz

I think this topic has just been dealt with....do a search on the site........courgette plants are huge and would probably take up too much space.

I have grown courgettes in pots before and they turned out really well. I grew them on a balcony that was surrounded by glass and had the sun all day. They turned out great, got a good few courgettes throughout the summer. I'm not an expert but I'd try them in pots in the greenhouse. I reckon my pots were about 30cm in diameter and I just let them flop over the sides. Not sure if I should've given them more room but it worked out for me.

Courgettes can get quite big, but I've grown them in a sheltered part of the garden fairly successfully for years. They like lots of manure and shelter but apart from that they are ok outside.
I keep some straw handy to put around the plant so that the fruit don't touch the ground, just like strawberries.
