I want to kill off all the grass on my lawn so I can replant it. I want a blank canvas so I can I can start afresh. Im thinking of making a border around the edge and in the middle too. Im just wondering though - How can I kill off all the grass so there is just soil but without harming the shrubs around it??? Razz:LSmile)Smile

If you spray a herbicide using a cowl covered sprayer on a very calm day is one way.
See here........ How to sow a lawn from grass seed in Ireland-Lawn Hints/Tips

Other methods include you stripping off any grass or weeds present, as well as scraping off 10cm (4 inches) of topsoil. Then refill up your levels again with good quality soil. This is a dual-purpose method, as it will remove the grass and weed seeds, which so often result in unwanted growth that crowds out your lawn grasses.

Or if we get some sunshine you can... Solarize your soil, non-chemical weed and disease control.
