I was weeding among my strawberry plants today, and found things that looked a bit like strawberry plans but also a bit like weeds I have seen before. The plants only went in last August so wasn't expecting runners yet. Are they in fact weeds? They have a hard root if this helps tell you anything.
Thanks in advance for any help. _________________ Please excuse my ignorance I'm new to this. |

I couldn't see any but as I've never grown them before I wasn't sure runners were above or below ground? _________________ Please excuse my ignorance I'm new to this. |

Hi, runners do go overground. I use a small pot filled with potting mixture and lightly push the small plant at the end of the runner in. You want the plant to set roots. As soon as you see roots appearing (two weeks should do it) you can cut off the runner and you got yourself another strawberry plant |
