Hello All
We're off again, after looooong winter of illness and bad weather etc., we are just next weekend getting the 2 new raised beds in place, have topsoil ordered and horse manure organised as well.
We're getting two cats to help scare off rabbits and little furry fellas
To help with butterflies, carrot-flies etc., would ye recommend fleece or nets ??
I'm thinking the fleece does two jobs (pest-control and frost-protection) but looks VERY delicate to be lifting every day or two to pick veg or weed etc.
Also, which is better for letting fresh air and water through ??
Not too concerned about extending season, frost-cover is a bonus
As always, all tips gratefully received - we were humbled by a 6-inch bunny last year so hoping to put up a better fight in 2010!
Thanks,
Bonnamh |

I personally prefer fleece for early crops as it gives the crops a lift in temperature, a very fine net will keep pests out but give no temperature boost. No need to lift off fleece to water or feed, only for harvesting or soil operations.
