hi all
can anybody give me some advice on saving tree seeds ie ash ,alder,rowan and white thorn. I heard that haws and rowan can be difficult to have sucess with.Any pointers appreciated. Very Happy

for a really good comprehensive overview of native Irish Trees and how to grow them to seed the following book (more like a magazine..) is great to have at hand:

Our Trees (a guide to growing Ireland's native trees) published by the People's Millennium Forests

I got my copy from the Tree Council of Ireland, and at the advertised price of €2 plus postage, it is probably the best investment that anyone with an interest in growing native trees in Ireland could make. I believe the CVNI were also involved in the publication so they may also be able to provide copies in NI, although I can't see it on their site. (www.cvni.org)
