I have a gorgeous calathea plant that seems to be doing very well. The problem is, one of it's largest leaves was torn when I bought it. Should I remove the leaf and if so, how should I do it? It looks a bit ragged, but otherwise quite healthy.
Thanks.

Hi Niamho, welcome to the forum. I have a calathea that I tidy up regularly. Just cut out the leaf as far down the stalk as you can. More leaves will grow from the bottom.

Thanks so much for the reply Garlicbreath. Just wanted to clarify before I butcher my plant; do you mean just snip the leaf off where it meets the stem or go right down and cut the stem off too? When I follow the stem down, there are a few other healthy leaves coming out of it. Thanks again.

No probs Niamho, cut off as much of the stem as you can without damaging the emerging leaves.
