I had a Jay in the garden this morning. It's only my fourth sighting of this bird in this part of Kerry over the past twenty years or more. Anyone else see them? |

Hi Sean,
I've seen Jay's fairly often over the last ten years where I'm living - not sure whereabouts you are in Kerry but I'm near Ballingeary which isn't too far from the Cork-Kerry border. _________________ Irish wildflowers |

Hallo Jenny,
I'm away up in mid-Kerry. You're within the recognised range where you are, but I'm just outside the westerly edge. They're in the Killarney National Park all right, but I'm west of that, so I very rarely get them. I wonder if they're extending their range. I planted ten acres of forest some years back, so I'm hopeful; I think the complete absence of any sizeable mature woodland around here is the limiting factor. |
