I have chives growing in a corner of my garden now for 3-4 years and only recently i discovered that there was different varieties. The ones i have, have very thin tubular leaves or spears, and on a recent visit to a herb garden i noticed their chives were more onion like, then chive like, and they had very large flowers and tubular spears. Does anyone know what variety they might be? _________________ I remember the first time i saw this...I laughed for Days.

There are several types of chive come onto the market in recent years, your "normal" chives, garlic chives, lemon chives etc. It's hard to say, but if you regularly split your chives you may find they produce larger foliage. Perhaps your's are needing split up and given a good dose of manure.
