In Polytunnels which are on the medium size type and used for vegetable growing, Is it best to have raised beds or just the normal ground level beds for growing mainly salad crops.

hello sweet pea.
raised beds are very beneficial especially if the ground the tunnel is built on is wet the down side is a raised bed in a tunnel usually attracts ants

I like ants, but reckon its because ants bring aphids, but I don't see how a raised bed would stop that.

I would go for a raised bed, that way you are forced to fill it good quality top soil, manure and compost.... and I think it looks prettier.

sweet pea ants do eat insects but they protect and farm aphids the aphids eat your plants and they excrete (poo) which the ants collect to eat it. .raised beds are great in a Polly tunnel
