Hi, am hoping to pick up a few tips, see some great gardens, and hear all about everyones hard work. Am just an enthusiastic amatuer, but its fun, and hard work, and very satisfying when you see things growing and flowering.

Welcome to Irish Gardeners, Katiem and best of luck with your garden way out West. Like Lucyloo and you I also am an amateur gardener, but I've been messing around on and off at it for fifty years. I've learnt a bit and made hundreds of mistakes in that time none of which I regret. "The man that made no mistakes made nothing". Joining this forum puts us in a good place, gives us a place to share our experiences and pick up tricks to use for life.

thanks, have already learned a few things in the last few hours. the best thing is knowing that other people come up against the same problems so you are not alone in your ignorance.

Welcome there katiem. Most of the gardeners here are in the same boat. Same weeds, same pests and in many cases same gardening successes. Smile
