I have a Pachira aquatica or Mexican fortune/money tree.

I have had it since June last year.

In the last few months it has begun losing a lot of leaves. Its pretty bare now.

The leaves go brown gradually and thin and fall off. The stems the 5-part leaves come from then fall off too.

There is plenty of new groth at the tips of the tall branches but before they grow to any big size they too start to go brown and fall off. They start to go brown as soon as they appear. There is a good bit of new groth however it just never matures.

I've included a photo of the tree and a photo of all the leaves that have fallen off in the past couple of days.

I'd appreciate any advice.

Thanks
Sue

that look like a very small pot for that tree.
I found someone else with a similar problem on the link below
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/807840/

They have one in the National Botanic Gardens
Glasnevin.
they may be able to give some practical advice.
