Hi everyone. I was walking by the river yesterday and found an egg. Quite large (bit smaller than a hen's egg) and a lovely sage green. So, quite a big bird and probably a water bird of some kind. Does anyone recognise this? I've tried finding an egg identifier on the internet but no success. If anyone knows of a good site could you post a link?

Photo isn't very sharp, sorry! Must have a shake in my hands this morning!

Good on ya Seán. Tis a mallard's alright. The colour does not come over rightly in the photo. GarlicBreath! Google "egg mallard duck" and hit images. You should see your egg.

Thanks Sean, and walltoall, I thought that egg would be far too big for a poor little mallard. Ouch Shocked
