Hi I've run out of space in my prepared vegetable plot and wondering what vegetables grow best in containers? In my plot I've got early potatoes, red onions, carrots, parsnips and leeks and some Rocket.
Going to plant my herbs in window boxes. I'm a total novice and have encountered one major disaster already my plastic greenhouse took off one windy day taking all my hard work with it. I'm starting from scratch again. I have sweetcorn just coming up now in little pots.

So what works best in a container?

Ah, that eternal problem. The contents of seed packet bigger than most gardeners plots. Very Happy

For container veg growing you should read this 3 part piece from Allotments.ie..... Window box vegetable growing for gardeners with limited space.

Thanks GPI its not that I don't have the space I just don't have it prepared and not likely to get it done this summer just had an op on my knee yesterday so I'm out of action for any heavy duty ground preparation.

Interesting reading and my husband was just going to dump a load of bubble wrap in the bin i told him to keep it I now have a good use for it.
