Hello All

I've a few courgettes growing happily in a cold-frame, each is in a 20cm diameter pot.

When I come to plant them out in a few weeks time, should I plant the whole pot? I am aware that they don't like root disturbance. Or is it safe to take them out of their pots?

I look forward to your advice...

Yes, just gently knock them out of the pot and into the garden. If they are in peat pots, just plant pot and all.
Bill.

plants in a 20 cm pot will take a while to reach the potbound stage. allow them to stay in the pots until the roots have explored all the compost and are all around the inside of the pot, then there is less danger of root disturbance. Courgettes are quite robust plants to handle but make sure they are properly hardened off before putting out.
