well with the apple i went for the M9 rootstock on a MALUS, and I got a pear 'pyrus communis' concorde, he said its a semi-dwarf rootstock quince A . I also got a plum that he said the same and should grow to about 9 ft ..., i have alot of room for them but wanted them small so as the hedge will shelter them ... hope it works , fingers crossed

well back in march i planted an apple tree and sorry im new to all this but this is what it said on the label..malus 'Elshof' M9 Idared.....
not sure about the last word as it was hand written ....
well it was doing fine till the june drop off and then all went but one and ...then that went too ....
well being the independent wee-lass i am i planted and staked it myself and of course the stake broke and the poor tree got a good shaking ....
well i replaced the the stakes and its fine and sturdy now
my problem now is i think it needs a good dose of TLC and i dont know what to give it ??? looking out at it in this weather its a slim little 5 foot tree looks like it could do with a duvet :L:L
any advise welcome
thanks _________________ A tidy garden means a messy house :O |
