Hi,
I've been scouring some of the DIY stores in the Dublin area and there is very little variety in garden tools.
Most spades have short handles with stirrup ends. Same with forks. Hoes are either draw or dutch.
Very few stainless steel tools too!
Can any posters recommend somewhere I'd get other style tools?
Fork: stainless steel with a long handle.
Hoe: onion or push/pull (swing?)
Spade: long handle. Are there any of those old style / traditional spades available? the blade should be about 5 inches wide, then narrows to about half that width where it connects to the handle, at which point there is a step jutting out for footing the spade into the ground. The corners of the blade are rounded.
A mattock is another great tool that I eventually found in B&Q. |

| Try the Eco Shop which has moved from Glen of the Downs to greystones. I got an oscillating hoe there before they moved. Give them a ring/check their web site, |
