I've taken a few photos in recent times of flowers in various private/public
gardens.
I've identified a few.
I'm interested especially about the identity of those lovely hybrid red/white
petalled flowers.
Anyone care to identify them ?

| I'm sure it is a form of pom-pom dahlia, iplogger1. But as to the exact variety, I am not sure. Bugs or gpi will surely know which exact dahlia it is. |

It could be a pom pom dahlia alright verge.
But on closer inspection it is too open a flower for that. My guess is a ball dahlia. |

You beat me to it Birdie.
The red/white petalled flower certainly looks like a (group 6) ball Dahlia.
A (group 7) pom pom Dahlias bloom would be much more globose in shape and tighter in the bloom.
Pom pom Dahlias blooms are also quite small compared to ball dahlias, the pom pom bloom is rarely wider than 2 inches across. _________________ Benefited from irishgardeners.com? Then link to us or tell others.

GPI, verge, etc
Thanks very much for info about ball & pompon dahlias.
The red/white one is quite unusual I think. I've looked up googles
image bank and found a few sites with a large variety of dahlias
and I haven't seen that combination before.
It's a roadside garden maintained by a lady in Kiltimagh in Mayo.
I've stopped a few times to photograph the flowers. Dahlias
are pretty photogenic !
