Hi, Can anybody tell where there I can buy a garden roller? I live in Westmeath equidistant between Mullingar and Longford and I am restoring a lawn after a building project. Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

Thank you Sillydad for your kindness. I found the site in question but all their
rollers were for towing and of no use to me as I have not got a tractor. However
the interest you have shown in attempting to help me made my day and I will continue my search. I hope you see this as I cannot send a pm until I complete 5 postings. Bil.

I have finally thrown in the towel and bought a brand new water/sand filled roller from the Moy Valley Garden Centre. I would have preferred an old fashioned one, new or used, but was unable to find one. what surprised me was just how many commercial outlets there were who not only didn't stock rollers of any description but who seemed to believed that they were a thing of the past. one large and very successful centre suggested I should try an antique shop. Are garden centres becoming like garages where the staff know more about take-away coffee than they do about petrol and oil? I sincerely hope not.

Sorry I missed your request before you went out and bought the roller.A few years ago I was in the same position until I saw my Neighbour with a Home-made Roller.get a 2/3ft length of Wavin Pipe [ the wider the heavier ] fill it with Cement, inserting a smaller piece in the center while its still wet.when hardened just make your own handle to suit.It works and does the same job as an expensive one.
