To help you visualise the bank masked with Leylandii VM and other posters.
Regularly pruned of course. Wink

Really cool gpi. it solves the problem of the bank but certainly makes the site a lot smaller and darker.

Thanks everybody again for your replies.

Especially Liparis for taking such time for your detailed response. I've been thinking long and hard and you're right, I've been panicking because I'm the kind of person who wants things done NOW!!! I've no patience and I need to learn that when it comes to gardening I've gotta wait for things to grow no matter what! So I'm gonna take my time and do the bank bit by bit. We did a huge amount of work on our back garden last year, planted beds all around the garden, laid mypex, covered with mulch, planted hedging around the sheds and utility area and made a play area using pebbles and planted around with lavenders. All in all we spent about €2000 or more so you can understand why I'm hesitatant about spending more, especially in the current climate! But what I've been thinking is that I can use the shrubs, plants and hedges we already planted to take cuttings and plant up the bank over time. We have a heavy duty petrol strimmer that we bought last year so my husband can spend his time off this week making a start on trimming the bank and we will go from there. Thanks again for all your replies.

GPI, that picture is really cool!! wish it were that easy to make the bank look so tidy in real life!
