I have finally designed my pergola thing but just wanted a bit of advice or consensus on something. My patio is 3.6m x 3.6m square so I was intending to use three 4" x 4" posts on each side for support with rafters.
But I have a question - 1. What size rafters would be best 4" x 2" or 4" x 1" and also how far apart should they be spaced apart on the frame so as not to look too megre or close together ? I was thinking of spacing about 10 - 12 above which would mean a gap of about 30cm.
Any thoughts or opinions. |

Hard-landscaping isn't my thing I'm afraid, but in a similar circumstance for myself, I would space them to look comfortable to the eye, after all, you have to live with it.
Maybe there is a hard-landscaper here with better advice? _________________ Earth is the insane asylum of the Universe.
