At last, I managed to attach the photo I took yesterday. Apologies for the failures, and I hope this was worth waiting for!

Great shot, he sure does look happy.
I saw my first official bumble bee yesterday, but I also saw one on Christmas morning too!

| Thanks for sharing your lovely bumblebee covered in pollen. And what beautiful crocus you have too. Is this not really early to see a bumble bee at this sort of thing?

Thank you for all your comments. These sort of photos are pure luck.....I probably took about 8 or 9 shots and was delighted to get one good one.
The same bumble bee ( I presume! ) returned in the afternoon when the crocuses had all but closed up their petals again, but he persisted. and squeezed into one of the blooms....it would have made a wonderful video!
Birdie, I have no idea when bumble bees should be out and about, but I have, over the years, as Barremic says, seen the occasional one close to Christmas.

Fantastic piccy, well worth the wait
'Bumbum'Bees, as my daughters called them when they were little, come out on mild days, but go back to sleep if it chills off....Now there's a life style I could warm to

Well i guess they will be all heading back home to warm up as the weather is set to get quite nasty over the next couple of days.
Just as we get lured back in to the garden with a bit of mild weather and some lovely bulbs sticking their heads up with a bit of colour, they start talking frost, sleet, ice and snow again, grrr.
Its only tuesday and i was looking forward to getting out there again this weekend!
