I have recently received a gift of a small parcel of land near Roundwood in Co Wicklow.
I was considering setting up allotments on the site.
Do you think there would be much interest in this?
Is there anybody who could give me some help/advice on how to go about this? |

Would you consider approaching your local council to see if something could be worked out between ye. I am sure they have loads of inquires regarding this. Also how small is a small parcel of land. |

I will contact the council. If they are not interested, can it be done privately.
There is about 6 acres on the plot |

| I know that we are planning to rent an allotment from a guy in Waterford who is setting out a field in allotments. He plans to put a water source to each one. He put an ad in the local paper, and got a good response...but then he's very near the city. You're a bit out of the way in Roundwood; all the people round you probably have plenty space in their gardens. Worth a try though. |

Hi there,
There is a great place just down the road from you called Carraig Dulra between Moneystown and Ashford which organises community gardening events and other garden-related events. The lady there called Suzy might be able to give you some pointers and advice, and you could also see what she has done with her plot of land. Visit www.dulra.org for details.
