Greetings from the foothills of the Blue Stacks, snow-sprinkled today.
New here after a couple of years on wild, high, bare mountain sites mostly treeless.
Now in a very old rented cottage with amazing shelter. The window boxes and tubs that used to end up in far fields have lifted their heads and the marigolds and nasturiums are glowing now.
There is a fair sized garden area here which will soon be black plastic mulched to start for a vegetable patch.
Evidence on an old lazy bed there too.
That too is very shelterd and a sun trap. And, as I said elsewhere, we have already contacted Coillte via this site and soon will start hedging and replanting with native stock. The trees etc here are very old and worn and some have already fallen.
We have no real budget for a garden; seed saving has been a blessing in past years and hopefully also in the years ahead.
After the last couple of years, this will be a delight. ; I hope for pumpkins once more. |

| Lovely spot you are in anchoress. A lot to be said for the old shelter. Welcome to the forum. |

Welcome anchoress. Sounds nice where you are. You should post up a few pics. You never know one of them could be selected for pic of the month. |
