Hi to everyone. My questions concerns the planting of daffies, tulips, blue bells, etc.
Firstly is it too early to start planting? When would it be ideal to plant?
Secondly can you stagger planting to extend the display? For instance if I had 200 bulbs of the exact same type of tulip or daffodil, and I planted 25 a week for the next 8 weeks, would I get 6 to 8 weeks of display or would they still come up at the same time...ish.
Thanks |

Its not too early avs0020.
Daffodils can go in the soil late August, September or October, and tulips between September and early November.
Start planting as soon as you can as all the best bulbs will be snapped up.

A sneaky gardener can also stagger their plantings at weekly intervals to stretch out the length of time each bulb type will be in bloom for the first year. This then regulates itself in subsequent years.
see here for spreading your spring bulb colour further.... Bulbs sown for spring are an investment in your garden. _________________ Benefited from irishgardeners.com? Then link to us or tell others.
