| Is there a magic way of ensuring my indoor tomato plants won't have dried up and died by the time I come back from holidays? I have other houseplants but they are in large pots and I can saturate these before leaving.. but the tomato plants dry out in a couple of days. Any suggestions? |

| Hello Novice. When I go on holidays I have a little watering trick that I use. First I clear everything off the draining board of my kitchen sink. Then I place a cotton sheet into the sink and pull part of it up onto the draining board. I then fill the sink with water. Finally I place my pre-watered plants onto the sheet covering the draining board. The drainage holes of the plant pots must be in direct contact with the moist sheet. They will absorb water as needed. This works for my one week holidays, you may need someone to check the plants after 1 week if your holiday is 2 weeks or more. |
