Farmleigh plant fair, Tree Walking Tours, Sun 31 Aug 2008

Time: 12noon to 5pm
Farmleigh are delighted to host their late summer plant fair as part of the gardening programme for 2008. In an outdoor designed gardening village 35 of the most prominent plant exhibitors from all over Ireland will have a pot pourri of rare and unusual plants for sale. This is an unique opportunity for seasoned and fledgling gardeners alike to get expert advice on all types of plants and shrubs.
An expert gardening panel has been assembled to advise and answer any queries that you might have about plants or gardening. The panel includes celebrity television gardener John Cushnie regular panellist on BBC 4 Gardeners Question Time and presenter of BBC 1 The Greenmount Garden, Carmel Duignan gardening writer and lecturer, Elizabeth Morgan landscape architect within the OPW and a selection of tree experts from the Tree Council of Ireland.
Gardening Panel Times
11am - 12.30pm
1pm - 1.30pm
2pm - 2.30pm
3pm - 3.30pm
There will be a plant creche in operation throughout the day where you can leave your plants for collection on your way out. Tree walking tours of Farmleigh will take place from 12 noon conducted by experts from the Tree Council of Ireland

A practical demonstration on the Propagation of Plants. How to easily root shrubs, perennials, bulbs by leaf, softwood, semi ripe and hardwood cuttings, air and ground layering and scales. They will root on the window sill and save you a fortune in the garden. _________________ Remember, a weed is just a plant in the wrong place.
