In this months bbc gardeners world magazine there is an article on moles and how the writer feels they are not a pest or nuisance to gardeners. It goes on to say that Ireland has no moles at all.
I was wondering then if moles were ever native here and tif so where did they all go or how come they were never here at all.
Maybe St Patrick kept that one quiet. |

the irish sea filled in before they made it here after the last ice age. they may have been native before that, but there would be damn little evidence if they had been.
