Hi All
This is how my garden was when I bought the house 2 years ago:
Last year was spent renovating the house to suit my mobility needs. As a result
of the building work the garden was neglected. Also we had to dig a trench
down the 3/8th acre to put in a sink hole to take the kitchen and gutter water
away from the house.
This is my garden right now:
So it's pretty raw right now.
I have three dogs and two cats to cater for in my space.
The view is breathtaking as you can see. I still have to draw up plans on how I
want my garden laid out.
My idea is to incorporate the view using it as a backdrop for the garden. I don't
want to block any aspect of the view in whatever I do as the back of the house
has been designed with the view as the feature.
I plan to grow vegetables, fruit, shrubs and a meadow lawn. I will need a path
or stepping stones going around the garden in order to facilitate my mobility
needs. I would also like an area which is a Zen garden
My friends think I need another half acre to realize my dreams. I think I just
need to win the lottery
As I am working on a very tight budget I will be using freecycle as much
as I can.
So lets see how we get on with this project, which seems huge right now.

Thanks birdie. The view is amazing.
I am a Dub, driven out by the cost of housing and the fast pace of life there. When people come to visit I hear sighs and deep breaths when they stand looking out at the view. It is very therapeutic.
I submitted my garden for the "Super Garden" but as I have not heard anything back thus far I think I will be doing this on my own.
Will update as I get things done.

Hi verge and Joaney
Thanks for the replies. The cat garden looks very interesting, I will be taking a few ideas from that, thanks.
All I need now are a few extra hands and feet I will take my time and any advice I can get. I bought some organic beetroot, lettuce and parsley seeds today which I plan to start off in a seed bed thingy I bought in Lidl.
Now where's the sun |
