i have a small (i.e. 8' x 5') plot in my back yard, half of which does not get sun. in that half, i have rhubarb growing, which seems happy enough with its lot, but doesn't get too big. are there any other veg i could grow into that shady area which wouldn't mind the lack of direct sunlight?

Vegetables which cope with less than sunny situations are usually the leafy specimens e.g. lettuce and spinach. Vegetables which are not cultivated for their fruit.

Hello MK,

As well as GPI's leafy suggestions, I've found radishes are fine in shady spots as long as they still get some ambient light.
Lot's of herbs do well too especially mint (planted in pot!), parsley, rosemary and chives. Rocket will live up to it's name in a shady spot! Smile

best of luck!
